Spectators sit in rows on both sides of the runway. The audience is deliberately underexposed and only partially visible as dark silhouettes and subtle human shapes.

The entire lighting system follows ONLY Maria.

A powerful narrow runway spotlight tracks her continuously as she walks.

Maria is brightly and dramatically illuminated.
